The 5th Award Ceremony of China Medical Women’s Association Science & Technology Award was held in the Great Hall of the People on July 15. Professor Hongyan Wang of our Hospital won the Wuzhou Science & Technology Award for BMS innovation.

Professor Wang was the Chang Jiang Scholar and chief scientist of the major national program and she also won the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars. Professor Wang focuses on birth defects especially the genetic mechanism of neural tube defect (NTD) and congenital heart disease (CHD) and the molecular mechanism of folic acid.
