Department of Family Planning 

The department of family planning of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital of Fudan university includes the family planning clinics, ward and daily surgery. There are one professor, two associate professors and more than 15 staffs.1 of them has achieved Ph.D, 6 of them with master degree. 

Family planning ward has 30 beds, Each year received more than 1,000 women, to carry out high-risk induced abortion in the trimester. The proportion of high-risk surgery was more than 80%. Microscopic tubal anastomosis is one of the features in our department, The success rate was about 80%. 

About 6 thousands outpatients from all over the country per month visited our clinic. The family planning clinics have a specific contraceptive consulting serves. Especially for those women after abortion and repeat abortion. Our hospital is one of the hospitals which first conducted medical abortion, With the 30 year's clinical experience, the success rate was more than 90%. In addition to the induced abortion, insertion and removal of IUD, curettage, surgical implants, etc., but also painless abortion with intravenous anesthesia was carried out.

Yangpu Branch hospital since 2009 was completed and open to use. Yangpu Branch was comfortable environment,well equipped and provide better services. Out-patients from the opening date has been over 1000 cases per month, more than 700 a month were outpatient surgery cases. As one of the departments in the Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital of Fudan University, family planning section has a strong, solid theoretical basis, clinical experience in medical technology and provides better services for women all over  the country.
